Barriers to advancement that currently exist in Arizona state and explanation of how nursing advocates in in the state overcome these barriers Although there Texas state based coalition is making efforts to advance the nurse profession through the different initiatives, there are identified barrier to the advancement. One of the barriers is the lack of resources such as technologies to collect relevant data (Texas Action Coalition, 2017). Second, staffing is also a barrier as it prevents nurse professionals from giving care comprehensively (Texas Action Coalition, 2017). Additionally, inadequate education opportunities for nurse professionals are also a barrier that prevents advancements from being realized. To overcome the technologies barrier, nursing in the state is advocating for healthcare leaders and administrations to provide the relevant technologies in the healthcare agencies and facilities (Texas Action Coalition, 2017). On staffing, nursing is advocating for the improvement in the staffing of the nurses and other healthcare professions in ways that reflect the patients’ populations. Lastly, for education scholarship opportunities, nursing encourages the state government to increase the funding for the scholarships so that more nurses can advance their education. Conclusion The nursing profession is undergoing transformation and the nurse profession plays a significant part in change promotion. The IOM report highlights four key messages and makes recommendations that encourage the nurse professionals to be proactive in the change implementations. The state based nurse coalitions also advance the recommendations of the IOM report and improves the nursing profession in different ways.
